Copper Spiral Necklaces: Handmade Boho & Viking Inspired Jewellery

At Spirales d'Argent, spiral jewellery has alwasy been at the heart of what I create. While many of my necklaces are handmade in silver, I also craft spiral necklaces in raw and oxidised copper, a metal with deep historical roots and a warm, earthy beauty.
Ancient Origins of Copper Jewellery
Copper is one of the oldest metals ever used by humands. Archaeological discoveries show it was being shaped into tools and jewellery over 10,000 years ago. Ancient civilisations across Europe, the Middle East and beyond valued copper not only for it's practicality, but also for it's rich, reddish glow.
Long before mass production, copper jewellery was shaped by hand, much like my spiral necklaces are today.
There's something timeless about copper. It connects us to the earth in a way that feels grounding and natural. Where silver is cool and refined, copper is warm, rustic and organic.
Raw vs Oxidised Copper Spiral Necklaces
I currently offer my spiral necklaces in:
Raw Copper - Bright, warm and natural. Over time it will slowly develop a darker patina, giving each piece unique character.
Oxidised Copper - Darkened by hand to create an aged, antique finish. Perfect for those who love boho jewellery, earthy fashion or even a Viking inspired style.
These copper spiral necklaces are particuarly popular with those who embrace natural materials, alternative dashion and symbolic jewellery. I've even had customers styling them with Viking hair and beard trends, and they look incredible!
Will Copper Jewellery Turn Your Skin Green?
This is a common question with copper necklaces.
Copper can react with natural skin chemistry, moisture, or products like perfume and lotion. For some people this may leave a temporary green mark on the skin. For many others, it doesn't happen at all.
It's completely harmless and washes off easily. It's simply a natural reaction between metal and skin, not a fault in the jewellery.
Handmade Copper Jewellery in the UK
Each spiral necklace is individually shaped, hammered and finished by hand in my workshop. I don't mass produce or outsource manufacturing.
I've recently added two raw copper spiral necklaces and three oxidised copper spiral necklaces to the collection, expanding the range beyond silver.
If you love handmade jewellery, matural metals, boho accessories or symbolic spiral designs, copper offers a beautiful and affordable alternative to silver, especially with silver prices rising!
Sometimes the most powerful pieces are the simplest: metal the the earth, shaped slowly and intentionally by hand.
